Because pieces are handcrafted and hand-finished, minor differences occur in colour, texture, patina, surface marks, shape and small dimensions. These are a natural part of handmade production — not defects.

Questions, Answered
Are Carfar products antiques?
No. Everything is newly manufactured in vintage or antique style. Where a piece is finished to look aged we describe it as vintage-style, antique-style, a replica or a decorative reproduction. We never present a new product as a genuine antique.
Do you publish prices?
Pricing depends on quantity, finish, packing and destination, so we quote against each enquiry rather than publishing fixed prices. You receive a written quotation, normally within one working day.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
For retail customers there is generally no minimum. For wholesale and export orders, minimums depend on the product and are confirmed with your quotation.
Are your telescopes and compasses functional?
Unless stated otherwise, nautical items are supplied as decorative pieces. We do not publish magnification or accuracy figures unless they have been verified, and no Carfar product should be relied upon for navigation or measurement.
Is the medieval armour real armour?
No. Every medieval item is a decorative replica made for display and themed decor. It is not protective equipment and must not be used as such.
Can I order a sample before a bulk order?
Yes, and for customised products we strongly recommend it. A physical sample settles size, finish, weight and packing far more reliably than a written specification.
Do you export?
Yes. We welcome enquiries from international businesses and prepare export documentation and transit-ready packing. Shipping method, cost and transit time are confirmed with your quotation.
Why do two pieces of the same product look slightly different?
Because forming and finishing are done by hand, patina depth, surface texture and small dimensions vary between pieces. Two items of the same design will be recognisably the same product, but not identical objects.
